Announcements
- 12/21: Tentative grades (as of Dec 21) here. You have until Dec 31, 2014 to inquire and correct any mistakes in the grades. Just e-mail me for your inquiries and corrections. People who failed to submit documentation and/or codes have been marked zero in the respective MP module grades. You have until Dec 31, 2014 to submit such deficiencies, otherwise your will be marked zero permanently. Also, there will no longer be a removal exam because no one is eligible. As agreed upon at the start of the semester, you need to pass both lec and lab in order to pass the course.
- 12/17: Class standings as of Dec 16 here. Deadline for MP documentation is on Friday, Dec 19, 2014, 5pm. Failure to submit documentation will invalidate the MP score. Also be reminded that you have to pass both lab and lecture parts to pass the course. In cases where you have a failing lec grade but have a passing total grade (because your lab grade is high enough to offset the failure), I will give you a 4.0 and you will have to take a removal exam early January next year. This exam will be a pass or fail exam – if you pass the exam, you automatically get a 3.0 regardless of your class standing. If you fail the exam, you get a 5.0. For the lab class, no INC or 4.0 grades will be given. Grades will be calculated as is. Therefore to pass the class, you have to at least pass the lab.
- 12/12: Updated class standings here
- 12/9: In light of the recent suspension of classes, the deadline for module 2 of the MP is moved to Dec 17, 2014, 5pm. Deadline for documentation of module 2 is also moved to the same date. I will also open the lab for testing and checking on Saturday (Dec 13) and on Monday to Wednesday next week (Dec 15-17), at 1-5pm.
- 12/2: Class standings can be viewed here
- 11/28: Final exam will be on Dec 5, 2014, in class. Please make sure to submit your timestamped A4 answer sheets in my pigeonhole at the admin office by Thursday, 5pm.
- 11/26: Starting today, I’ll be opening the STC from 5:30pm – 7:00pm every weekday (assuming there are no classes during that time). You can use this additional time to test your designs with the FPGA.
- 11/25. MP Module 2 specs here.
- 11/24: MP Module 1 tester here. Use it as an input generator for your controller. Make sure to include both tester and design in a top-level module and synthesize that top-level module.
- 11/18: MP Module 1 specs here
- 10/29: In consideration of those who will go home to the provinces for Undas, I have decided to cancel the lecture class on Friday. See you next week!
- 10/27: No lab class this week (Oct 28 and 30). Please familiarize yourselves with the Xilinx ISE tool flow. You may download the free Webpack version from the Xilinx website and you can use this guide. You may also want to start reading this user guide to familiariaze yourselves with the FPGA and board that we shall be using in class. I will see you on Friday for the lecture class.
- 10/22: Sorry if there was confusion regarding the deadline of the lab report. In the lab document the deadline was Oct 22 (today) but in my previous announcement here in the webpage it was Oct 21 (yesterday). To make it fair for all parties, I will set the deadline to Oct 22 (today).
- 10/17: No lecture and lab class next week. Please submit your lab reports (thru e-mail) on Tuesday. If you need a copy of the lab exercise, here it is.
- 10/8: No lecture class on Friday, Oct 10, 2014. This is because I have a meeting with DOST.
- 9/26: Reminder: Midterm Exam will be on Friday next week, Oct 3. Please submit your timestamped answer sheets (A4) at my pigeonhole on Monday.
- 9/21: Because the next lab exercise is about a topic that I was supposed to teach on last Friday’s class, no new lab exercises will be given this week. Instead, the lab time will be spent for finishing lab exercises 3 and 4. Those who have already finished doing the said exercises need not attend the lab classes on Tuesday and Thursday.
- 9/11: No lecture class tomorrow, Friday Sept 12, 2014
- 8/15: Please be careful of checking your classmates’ quizzes. I have seen wrong marks made in the quiz earlier. Any further wrong marks in succeeding quizzes will be penalized.
- 8/8: Accomplish the student information form found here and send a 300px X 300px ID picture to snapdensing@gmail.com. Use the following subject for your e-mail: “CoE 111 ID pic”
- 8/7: Welcome to CoE 111!
